Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Loved K.L...much different than the clean, orderly Singapore....was a shock to step off the bus in K.L. to be greeted by numerous people trying to usher us into their teksi (Taxi) or into their hostel. Stayed in a "dirty dungeon" room the first night and then found a much nicer area and place to stay for the other 2 nights. We walked around the markets, found some beautiful park land and spent some time walking around there. Lined up at 8:30am on Saturday for 2 hours to get free tickets up the Petronas Towers. ...wandered through an "artist village" and bought some interesting pieces and talked with some of the artists.

We found the best street that came alive at night....called Jalan Alor. There were tons of hawker stalls for cheap food and drinks and as you walked along the street all the restaurant owners would try to get you into there restaurant, very enthusiastically ....although it wasn't really a restaurant at all. They had just set up plastic tables and chairs all along the road...we enjoyed shaved ice and fruit dessert and just really loved the atmosphere...loud asian music, lots of different smells, lots of interesting people.
Sorry for the shortest of the description and not that many pictures....once again we are having a hard time finding a program to shrink the photos and the internet is not that fast....nonetheless ENJOY!!

Chinatown street market...Jalan Petaling...extremely entertaining to walk up and down the street and have all the shop people try to sell you the "best" item at the "best" price...watches, bags, t-shirts, pirated DVDs, jeans, jewellery..
Here is Brendon sitting on Jalan Alor enjoying a Tiger beer. You can see in the background a guy holding a menu trying to get more people to eat his food!

Petronas Twin Towers...tallest twin towers in the world...famous tourist attraction in KL. We went up to the 41st floor and crossed on the skybridge...but nothing will ever compare with our beloved CN tower!!
Anyhow, we are falling a bit behind but we will post pics soon. We are in Krabi, Thailand now and are enjoying the sun (and the rain...it is monsoon season) , the food and the banana pancakes.
