Barby at the Dam

Yesterday, we (Brendon, Michelle and myself - Charles had to work) went to the dam for a
P-A-R-T-Y...One of Michelle's co-workers was leaving the council and so there was a going away gathering. The dam is about 20 km from Emerald, and although it is not a beautiful white sandy beach, it is a really nice place to cool off and have a picnic. Another one of Michelle's co-workers had brought his boat and was offering tube rides, water skiing and knee boarding. I didn't do any of that (forgot to put my tog (aka. bathing suit) on) but Brendon had a go at knee boarding and caught on fairly quickly.

After the water sports, we enjoyed some dinner (chook (aka. chicken) and salads) overlooking the dam and the sunset.

Sounds like you had a super day with lovely weather! Thanks for the photos. We had minus 8C and very windy - pretty cold after the warmer temps of the week. Love Mum and Dad C

It's -13; feels like -20 in Ottawa. This morning it was -20, felt like -31. You're sunset looks so nice compared to the luge-like icy-ness outside.

My parents are in Montego Bay, Jamaica this week. Apparently it is 27, feels like 37 there. : )

Oh well, I guess at least we have sunlight here, unlike in Alert. Derek is slated to come back on Wednesday, so I am looking forward to that. Keep up the great posts!

Hi Kristin and Brendan
You can tell we all watch your blog every day. (I watch Derek's every day as well. He may not keep it up after he returns from up north.)
What a fun relaxing day it looks like!
The language lessons are fun.
